This is the fifth tutorial in this series of Canadian smocking tutorials. Today I am going to demonstrate how to stitch this crisscross bones design.

Fabric taped and grid is drawn.
This is the pattern for crisscross bones design.
Pattern is drawn on the back side / wrong side of the fabric.
The two ends of the diagonal lines are tied together.
Start at A, pick up a few strands of the fabric at B and come back up to A and pull tight.
When pulled tight, this will create a diagonal fold in the fabric. Repeat for all diagonal lines in the pattern.
