This is a tutorial for both Shisha work (mirror work) and kutch embroidery. This is a beautiful pattern. You can use one big mirror like I have shown below or you can use 4 small mirrors.
Like in any other kutch embroidery stitch, we will first stitch the grid that will hold the mirror in place and will also be the base for interlacing.
Note: You can also glue the mirror to the fabric if you think it will help.
Draw a circle around the mirror.
We will be drawing 3 rectangles around the mirror.
The mirror can be placed when we are stitching the second rectangle.
Starting next rectangle.
Note how the vertical line on the left (A) is above the horizontal line. So the next vertical line (B) should pass below the horizontal line.
Weave the needle again.
Place mirror in position.
Repeat steps for the third rectangle.
Base grid is ready now.
