Busy bags have educational toys / learning games that teach simple activities to toddlers and preschoolers.

All parts of the toy can be packed into a bag (usually a ziploc bag).

The main advantage of  a busy bag is that it can be carried around easily. They keep the little ones busy (and quiet  😉 ) while waiting at a doctor’s office or airport. They are usually very inexpensive and easy to make.

Benefits of this toy

Children learn to count objects.

They will learn the relationship between numbers and quantities.

Improves fine motor skills when a paper clip is picked up (pincer grip) between the thumb and pointer or middle finger.

Improves hand eye coordination.

Children learn about magnets. Add a few plastic paper clips to the bag and they will find out that they don’t stick like metal paper clips.

(A word of caution: If your child has the habit of putting foreign objects into his mouth, this toy is not for him till he is older.)
