This is a simple and inexpensive toddler activity to teach sorting and matching. I used easily available cupcake liners for this activity. This activity also helps improve pincer grip as the toddler has to pick up the pieces by holding it between the thumb and pointer.
Cupcake liners have designs on the outside.
I turned them inside out and lined a cupcake tray.
Then I folded a liner 4 times and cut along the folded lines.
Then my little one who loves colorful things spent quite a lot of time sorting and matching the patterns on the cupcake liners.
Once she became an expert, she decided that we should have a race. We had to sort 3 patterns each. Of course I lost .
