Tulip stitch is a variation of the long tailed daisy stitch. Tulip stitch is made of one long tailed daisy and two straight stitches on the sides of the tail giving it the appearance of a tulip. There are two methods to do this. I will be showing both of them below.
Stitch a regular chain stitch like shown below.
Anchor the chain to the fabric with a long tail.
Come back up on the side like shown below. Lace the needle through the daisy’s tail.
Go down on the other side as shown below.
Tulip stitch is ready.
Here is another version.
Stitch the long tailed daisy and come up to the side.
Instead of lacing the needle through the tail, make a straight stitch like shown below.
Do the same on the other side.
Both the tulips side by side.
